Alex Schmidt How I got started I began racing at age 13 after following the sport for a number of years. I
started in the 80cc Beginner class and progressed into the 80 Senior class. Two
years later I moved to 125`s and raced the Schoolboy and Intermediate classes.
Thereafter, I spent two seasons in the 250 Intermediate class and now race
the125 pro`s. Competitive Highlights My 2005 season has been great. I successfully qualified for and raced against
the best amateur racers in the sport at Loretta Lynns. The next weekend I enterd
my first professional race at Millville, Minnesota, and although I didn`t make
it to the motos, I advanced through the preliminary qualifiers and into the
Sunday program. Along the way, I won plenty of local North Dakota races and
finished 3rd overall in 2 classes in the Central Minnesota MX Series without
entering all of the rounds. My progress through the year did not go unnoticed,
as I was voted "Most Improved Rider" in the N.D.M.A.
This winter I plan on hitting the Mid-Western rounds of the AMA Arenacross
series as well as the BooKoo Arenacross series. Next summer I will race the
Washougal, Red Bud, Thunder Valley, and Millville rounds of the AMA Motocross
series in the MX Lites class. I will again run the qualifiers for Loretta Lynn`s
in the ProSport classes. |
